WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT

Learn the history of Lisbon on a full-day city tour, available as a group or private option.

Following a pick-up from your hotel, travel by minivan through the city's historic neighborhoods, starting with Portas do Sol and Nossa Senhora do Monte belvederes.

Wander the winding streets of one of Lisbon’s oldest areas, before going to Lisbon Cathedral, the oldest church in the city. Admire the rose window, reconstructed from fragments of the original. Next, explore the Alfama, one of Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhoods. Walk down twisting cobblestone streets and stairs lined with quaint cafés en route to Belém. Here, you will learn how the city expanded during the period of the “Age of Discoveries.”

Next, marvel at the dazzling facade of Jerónimos Monastery, one of Portugal’s architectural jewels. Go to the defensive Belém Tower at the mouth of the River Tagus, and see the Monument to the Ages of Discoveries. Taste a traditional Pastel de Belém custard tart after lunch.

In the afternoon, head back to the city center, following the 18th-century aqueduct and the famous Tram 28 route. End in the Baixa area, and learn how Lisbon was rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1755. Baixa is also one of the best places to enjoy Lisbon by night!

What a brilliant day out in Lisbon thanks to our guides Nuno & Gustov. They took us to see all the main attractions and their favourite places. Their historical knowledge of the city know no bounds.
We can thoroughly recommend this tour. Our short holiday would have not have been so enjoyable if we had not met these young men and taken this tour.
You must take this tour and ask for these 2 guides - you will not be disappointed.

Our guide Raquel was fantastic. She showed us the sights and asked what we wanted to see. Took us to the Aquaduct and many other small interesting places around town. She was very friendly, knowledable and manouvered the streets and traffic well. We would liked to have spent more time with her roaming Lisbon and the surrounding areas. Would certainly book her again when we return to Lisbon for a longer stay

Informative, comprehensive and overall an enjoyable experience. We went from one end of Lisbon to the other, across the water to the big Jesus, through all the nooks and crannies of the old city to the old ruins sitting on the high ridges overlooking the city. Well worth the money paid and I would happily do it again. A good way to see and showcase the city. Loved the tour guide and his enthusiasm and I'm ashamed that I can't remember his name but I do know he lived in Angola and his father was an army officer there. Highly recommended!

Fabulous! What an amazing day spent with Nuno, Raquel, and 4 new friends. My husband and I were so impressed by how our guide got to know each of us and pointed out things along the way that were meaningful to each of us. Raquel even located the information on her phone for us to copy and be able to return to in our continued stay in Lisbon. Their knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to detail was incredible. And we loved the special treat....tarts, that we shared near the end of our time. This has changed the way we will tour in the future!
